Fair Usage Policy

1. Overview of Fair Usage Policy (FUP)

Mapians (operated by Roam Communication Limited) partners directly with tier-1 mobile network operators and wholesale carriers across 190+ countries. To ensure stable 4G LTE and 5G speeds for all users on shared cell towers, partner networks apply standard telecommunications Fair Usage Policies (FUP) on selected plans.

2. Fixed-Data Travel eSIM Plans

Fixed-data bundles (for example 3GB, 5GB, 10GB, 20GB, 50GB or 100GB) provide full-speed 4G LTE / 5G data up to the total gigabyte allowance purchased. Fixed-data plans are not subject to daily speed throttling. Once your full data allowance is consumed or the validity period expires, data access stops until you top up or purchase a new plan.

3. Daily & Unlimited Data eSIM Plans

Unlimited and daily high-speed eSIM plans include a stated daily high-speed allowance (for example 1GB/day, 2GB/day, 3GB/day, or uncapped carrier-managed speed such as KDDI 10Mbps) before transitioning to a reduced fair-use speed (typically between 512kbps and 5Mbps depending on the host carrier) until the next 24-hour cycle resets. Any applicable daily high-speed threshold is displayed on the plan card prior to purchase.

4. Personal Hotspot & Tethering

Personal hotspot and Wi-Fi tethering are permitted on Mapians travel eSIM plans unless explicitly noted otherwise on the plan specification. Tethered data usage counts toward your plan's data allowance or daily fair-use threshold.

5. Prohibited Network Abuse

Host mobile operators reserve the right to restrict or suspend lines engaged in automated SIM-box routing, commercial bandwidth resale, continuous peer-to-peer torrenting, or network denial-of-service activity.
