Afghanistan eSIM FAQs
Still unsure? Our 24/7 Live Chat and ticket team will help.
Does a Afghanistan eSIM include a local phone number?
Most Afghanistan travel eSIM plans are data-only so you can use WhatsApp, FaceTime, iMessage, Telegram and Teams without changing your existing number. Selected European carrier plans (such as Three UK) also include a voice/SMS number.
Which mobile networks does the Mapians Afghanistan eSIM use?
Our Afghanistan eSIM plans connect to tier-1 partner networks including Orange, giving you reliable 4G LTE and 5G coverage in major airports, cities and travel routes across Afghanistan.
When does my Afghanistan eSIM plan validity start?
Your plan validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported mobile network in Afghanistan, not when you purchase it. You can buy and install your QR code over Wi-Fi before departure.
Can I use personal hotspot and tethering in Afghanistan?
Yes. Personal hotspot and Wi-Fi tethering are supported on Mapians Afghanistan eSIM plans, allowing you to share data with a laptop, tablet or travel companion.
What 4G and 5G speeds can I expect in Afghanistan?
You receive full-speed 4G LTE and 5G where available on local partner networks in Afghanistan. Fixed-data plans run at uncapped speed for your entire allowance, and any unlimited plan states its daily high-speed cap upfront.
Will my eSIM work as soon as I land in Afghanistan?
Yes. Install the eSIM over Wi-Fi before your flight, then switch on Data Roaming for your Mapians eSIM line when you land at major airports, cities and travel routes across Afghanistan for instant connectivity before baggage claim.
How much does a prepaid eSIM for Afghanistan cost?
Prepaid Mapians eSIM plans for Afghanistan start from £6.00 for 64 available single-country and multi-country bundles, with all taxes included and zero roaming charges.
What if my eSIM does not connect in Afghanistan?
